Software for pharma distributors and medical suppliers

In short

Berri is a new technology company in India that helps pharma distributors and medical suppliers catch near-expiry stock early, take chemist reorders on WhatsApp and keep temperature proof for sensitive shipments. Its sensor integration and reports already run in production in a working logistics business. Health data carries legal duties, which Berri reviews with each client.

What breaks every day

Near-expiry stock is found too late, after the window to return or move it has closed. Slow-moving items sit on the shelf and nobody notices until stock taking.

Chemists reorder by phone and WhatsApp at odd hours, and those orders are easy to miss or mistype. Sensitive items such as vaccines and insulin often travel with no temperature proof at all.

What a first version could do in two weeks

A first version could give you a daily report of stock that is near expiry or not selling, built from the billing export you already have.

Reorders by WhatsApp, checked against stock, and temperature proof from sensors for sensitive shipments can follow. Forecasting which items will run short is something Berri offers only as a trial for now.

How Berri works with you

In week 1 we listen to how stock, reorders and dispatch work for you, and give you a fixed price in writing.

Health and personal data carry legal duties under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act. Its Rules were notified on 13 Nov 2025 and most duties apply after 18 months, about 13 May 2027 (Mondaq, https://www.mondaq.com/india/data-protection/1708164/digital-personal-data-protection-rules-2025-notified). Berri would review what this means for your data with you before building. This is not legal advice, and your lawyer should confirm it.

Usually in week 2 you see the first version on your own data. Then we run it and teach your team.

Who it is not for

Berri does not replace your billing or inventory software. It reads from it.

If you need a regulatory compliance service or legal advice on drug or data law, that is a job for specialists and lawyers, not for Berri.

Common questions

How can a pharma distributor track near-expiry stock?

The simplest start is a daily report built from your existing billing or stock export that lists every batch near expiry and every slow mover. Berri builds this kind of report so it arrives each morning without anyone preparing it. You decide how many days before expiry an item should be flagged.

Can chemists place reorders on WhatsApp?

Yes. A WhatsApp assistant can take reorders at any hour and check them against stock before your team confirms. Berri runs a WhatsApp assistant in daily use inside a logistics business and can build one for chemist reorders. Your staff still approve orders, so nothing ships on a guess.

How do I prove the temperature of a cold chain shipment?

Temperature sensors in the box or vehicle record readings during the trip, and the readings can be saved as proof for each shipment. Berri connects such sensors to a control tower and already runs sensor integration in production in a working logistics business. Which sensors we can read depends on the devices you use.

Does the DPDP Act apply to pharma distributors?

If you hold personal data, such as patient or customer details, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act is likely to apply. Its Rules were notified on 13 Nov 2025, and most duties apply after 18 months, about 13 May 2027, as reported by Mondaq. Berri reviews this with each client, but your lawyer should advise you.

Can software forecast which medicines will run short?

It can help, but Berri treats forecasting as a trial for now, not a finished service. A forecast is only as good as your sales history, so we would test it on your own data first and show you how often it was right before you rely on it.
