Scoped to your need

Mobile apps, starting with the simplest version that works

In short

Berri builds mobile apps for businesses in India, scoped to each client's need. Often the best start is a web app, which opens in the phone's browser and works on Android and iPhone without an app store. Berri agrees a fixed price in writing in week 1 and usually shows a first working version in week 2.

The problem it solves

Drivers, field staff and customers live on their phones, but the business tools they need are often stuck on an office computer or spread across WhatsApp messages and photos.

When people in the field cannot record work as it happens, details are filled in later from memory, and the office never quite knows what is true.

What you get

You get an app built for one group of people and one job, for example drivers sending proof of delivery, staff logging visits, or customers checking an order.

We usually start with a web app, because it is faster to build, updates instantly and needs no store approval. If you truly need features only an installed app can give, such as working fully offline, we scope that separately.

Berri has not yet delivered a store listed mobile app for an outside client. Our phone screens run inside a working logistics business, and anything beyond that is scoped to your need and priced in writing.

How it works with Berri, week by week

Week 1 is for listening. We meet the people who will use the app, study how the work is done today, and write down one result we both agree on. Before any build starts, you receive a fixed price in writing.

In week 2 you usually see a first working version on your own phone, doing the one main job with real examples. Your team uses it and tells us what is confusing before we add more.

Then we run it with you and teach your team, step by step, until they are comfortable. If something stops working or needs a change, you talk to a person. Your data belongs to you and can be exported at any time.

Who it suits and who it does not

It suits businesses with people away from a desk who need to record or check something quickly, and a clear idea of what that one job is.

If a good app already exists for the job, such as a ready made attendance or delivery app, try it first. It will often be cheaper than building your own.

It is the wrong choice if you want a large consumer app that competes with big brands from day one. That needs a much bigger team and budget than a first small version.

Common questions

Should I build a web app or a native mobile app?

A web app opens in the phone's browser and works on both Android and iPhone, with no store approval and instant updates. A native app is installed from a store and suits features like full offline use or heavy camera work. Berri usually suggests starting with a web app and moving to native only if there is a clear reason.

How much does it cost to make a mobile app for a small business?

The cost depends on what the app must do and who will use it. Berri does not quote a price before understanding the work. In week 1 we listen, agree one clear result, and then give you a fixed price in writing. You see the full cost before anything is built.

Can drivers use a mobile app on cheap Android phones?

Yes, if the app is designed for it. Simple screens, large buttons, small downloads and patience with weak networks all help. Berri checks the phones your people actually use during week 1, and tests the first version on those phones rather than only on new ones.

Will the app be listed on the Google Play Store?

It can be, if you need an installed app. Many business apps do not need a store listing, because a web app saved to the phone's home screen works well for staff. If you do need a store listing, Berri scopes that work separately and includes it in the written price.

Can a mobile app work without internet?

Some can. A web app can keep limited data on the phone and send it when the network returns, but full offline work usually needs an installed app. Berri asks how often your people lose signal and what they must record then, and scopes the app to that need.
