What breaks every day
Most fleets use GPS from more than one vendor. Each vendor has its own app, so nobody has a single picture of where every truck is and which ones are standing idle.
Customers phone all day asking where their truck is. Proof of delivery is chased by hand. Trip counts, kilometres and waiting time at gates are rarely matched against the bill, so money slips away quietly.
This is a large and scattered trade. Redseer puts Indian truck freight at about USD 170 billion in FY2024 and says about 75% of operators own fewer than five trucks (Redseer, https://redseer.com/articles/unlocking-growth-in-indias-fragmented-trucking-sector/). Small fleets rarely have anyone to build software for them.
What a first version could do in two weeks
A first version could show one live board of every vehicle, built from the GPS feeds you already pay for. No new devices are needed to start.
Alongside it, a daily sheet of idle and held-up trucks, and a WhatsApp number that answers the question your customers ask most: where is my truck?
This is what we would aim for. What is possible depends on your GPS vendors and the data they share, and we will tell you that plainly in the first week.
How Berri works with you
In week 1 we listen. We sit with the people who run your trips, look at the sheets and apps they use, and give you a fixed price in writing.
Usually in week 2 you see a first version working on your own data. After that we run it, fix what breaks, and teach your team to use it without us.
Who it is not for
If you only need GPS devices, a hardware vendor is the right call. Berri reads their feeds, it does not sell devices.
If you only need cheap WhatsApp broadcasts, a self-serve WhatsApp tool will cost less than any service. And Berri does not replace Tally or your billing software. It connects to them.
Common questions
How can I track all my trucks on one screen if they use different GPS companies?
A control tower pulls the location feeds from each GPS vendor into one board, so you stop switching between apps. Berri builds this from the feeds you already have, where the vendor allows access. In week 1 we check which of your vendors share data and tell you honestly what one screen can and cannot show.
Can customers check their truck status on WhatsApp?
Yes. A WhatsApp assistant can read the live location and trip status and reply when a customer asks where their truck is. Berri runs a WhatsApp assistant like this in daily use inside a logistics business. Your staff stop answering the same call many times a day, and you decide what customers are allowed to see.
How do I find out which trucks are standing idle?
Once all vehicles are on one board, a daily report can list trucks that have not moved for a set time, and trucks held up at a gate or depot. Berri can send this sheet every morning. You choose the time limits that make sense for your routes, and we adjust them as you learn.
Why do my trip and waiting charges never match the bill?
Usually because trip counts, kilometres and waiting time live in different places, GPS on one side and billing sheets on the other, and nobody puts them side by side. A report that matches the two shows where the gaps are. Berri builds these reports from your own GPS data and billing exports.
Do I need to buy new GPS devices to start?
No. Berri works with the GPS devices and vendors you already use. If a vendor does not share its data, we will tell you in the first week rather than promise something we cannot deliver. Berri does not sell hardware, so there is nothing to push on you.
