Software for textile and apparel businesses

In short

Berri is a new technology company in India that builds order tracking dashboards, job work and fabric stock reports, and buyer WhatsApp assistants for textile and garment businesses. It follows each lot from yarn or fabric through dyeing, stitching and dispatch on one screen, using your Tally data and floor registers. First working versions usually arrive in week 2.

What breaks every day

Fabric goes out to dyers, printers and stitching units on job work, and comes back in parts, days later, sometimes short. Keeping track of which lot is with which job worker, and how many metres or pieces are still out, lives in one person's head or diary.

Buyers and agents keep asking where their order stands. The merchandiser calls the floor, the floor calls the job worker, and the answer reaches the buyer a day later, often wrong.

Stock of greige, finished fabric and ready garments is spread across the godown, the shop and the job workers. Slow moving designs and colours pile up because nobody sees them clearly until the season is over.

What a first version could do in two weeks

A first version could show every open order lot by lot, with the stage it is in and which job worker holds it, built from your challans, Tally entries and floor registers.

It could list pending job work returns each morning, with metres or pieces still out and for how many days, so the right person follows up before a delivery date slips.

A WhatsApp assistant could then answer buyer and agent questions about order status from the same data. We confirm in the first week how much of this your current records can support.

How Berri works with you

In week 1 we walk the floor and the godown, look at your challan books, Tally data and order sheets, and give you a fixed price in writing.

Usually in week 2 you see a first version on your own orders. After that we run it, fix what breaks and teach your merchandisers and godown staff. Your data stays yours and can be exported whenever you need it.

Who it is not for

If you need machine level loom or knitting monitoring with special hardware, an industrial automation vendor is the right call, though Berri can connect to devices you already have.

If you only need to sell garments online to consumers, a ready made shop builder may be enough. And Berri does not replace Tally or your ERP. It reads from them.

Common questions

How do I track fabric sent out for job work to dyers and stitchers?

Record each challan going out and each lot coming back, then let a report work out what is still pending with each job worker and for how long. Berri can build this from the challans and Tally entries you already make. The owner gets a morning list of overdue lots, so follow ups happen before a buyer's delivery date is at risk.

Can buyers check their garment order status on WhatsApp?

Yes, once order stages are tracked in one place. A WhatsApp assistant can read the status of a buyer's order and reply when the buyer or agent asks. Berri runs a WhatsApp assistant in daily use inside a working business. You decide what each buyer is allowed to see, and anything the assistant cannot answer goes to your merchandiser.

How can I find slow moving fabric and garment stock?

Put all stock in one view, across godown, shop and job workers, and sort it by how long each design, colour or lot has been sitting. The slow items stand out at once. Berri builds this report from your Tally stock data and godown registers, so you can act on old stock while there is still time to sell it.

Does Berri work with Tally for textile businesses?

Yes. Berri connects to Tally and to common ERP exports, reading sales, purchase and stock entries so nobody retypes them. Your accountant keeps working in Tally as before. The dashboards and reports sit on top and add what Tally does not show well, such as which lot is with which job worker today.

Is this suitable for a small garment unit or only large mills?

It can suit either, because the first version is built around the records you already keep and scoped to one clear problem. A small unit might start with job work tracking alone. In week 1 we agree what matters most to you and give a fixed price in writing, so you are not paying for features you will not use.
