What breaks every day
Produce is bought from many farmers, agents and mandis at different rates, weights and quality grades. The purchase slips, weighbridge readings and payments rarely line up, and disputes over a few quintals take days to settle.
Inside the plant, raw material turns into batches of finished product, but the link between which purchase went into which batch is often lost. When a buyer raises a quality complaint, tracing it back is slow.
Cold stores and ripening chambers must hold the right temperature and humidity. A compressor fault at night, noticed only in the morning, can spoil stock that took weeks to buy.
What a first version could do in two weeks
A first version could gather daily purchases by farmer or agent, with weight, grade, rate and payment status, into one sheet that the owner checks each morning.
It could link purchase lots to production batches, so any batch can be traced back to where its raw material came from.
If your cold stores have sensors, or can take simple ones, it could send a WhatsApp alert the moment a reading crosses your limit. What is possible depends on your equipment, and we tell you that in the first week.
How Berri works with you
In week 1 we visit the purchase point, the plant and the cold store, look at your slips, weighbridge records and Tally data, and give you a fixed price in writing.
Usually in week 2 a first version runs on your real data. Then we run it, fix what breaks and teach your purchase and plant staff. Your data stays yours and can be exported at any time.
Who it is not for
If you need crop advice, weather forecasting for farmers or soil testing, an agritech advisory service is the better fit. Berri works on your business records, not on the farm itself.
If you only need a weighbridge or a temperature logger, buy it from a hardware vendor. Berri connects to such devices and reads them, it does not sell them.

How can I keep track of produce bought from many farmers and agents?

How do I trace a finished batch back to its raw material?

Berri can build this link from your purchase and plant records, keeping the entry as light as possible for your floor staff.
Can I get a WhatsApp alert when my cold store temperature rises?
Yes, if the cold store has a sensor that can share readings, or can be fitted with one. A small system checks each reading against your limits and messages the right person on WhatsApp when one is crossed. Can farmers or agents check their payment status on WhatsApp?
A WhatsApp assistant can read purchase and payment records and reply when a farmer or agent asks what has been paid and what is due. Berri runs a WhatsApp assistant in daily use inside a working business. You decide what each person can see, and it can reply in the language your suppliers prefer where that is practical.
Does Berri forecast demand or crop prices?
Forecasting is something Berri is still trialling, so we would not promise it as part of a first version. What we can build now is a clear view of your own purchases, stock and sales, which is the base any forecast needs. If forecasting later proves useful for you, we would discuss it openly as a trial.
