In trial

Forecasting and machine learning, tried first on your own data

In short

Berri offers forecasting and machine learning to businesses in India as a trial. Machine learning means software that finds patterns in your past data, for example to estimate next month's demand or flag numbers that look unusual. Berri is still proving this work, so it starts as a small paid trial with a clear test of whether it helps.

The problem it solves

Many decisions about stock, staff and vehicles are made on gut feel because nobody has time to study past numbers carefully. Sometimes the guess is right, and sometimes it costs money.

Unusual numbers, such as a sudden jump in cost or a drop in orders, are often spotted weeks late because they are buried in a long report.

What you get

You get a trial built on your own history, such as sales, orders or stock. It produces an estimate or a warning, and shows how sure it is, so your team can judge it.

We compare the result with what actually happened, and with a simple method such as last year's figure. If machine learning does not beat the simple method, we tell you, and you do not need to go further.

This line is in trial. Berri has not yet delivered forecasting for an outside client, so we will not promise accuracy before we have tested it on your data.

How it works with Berri, week by week

Week 1 is for listening. We meet the people who will use the forecast, study how the work is done today, and write down one result we both agree on. Before any build starts, you receive a fixed price in writing.

In week 2 you usually see a first working version: an estimate or warning built from your past data, placed next to what really happened, so you can see whether it helps.

Then we run it with you and teach your team, step by step, until they are comfortable. If something stops working or needs a change, you talk to a person. Your data belongs to you and can be exported at any time.

Who it suits and who it does not

It suits businesses with at least some clean history in Excel, Tally or an ERP, and a clear question such as how much stock to hold.

It is the wrong choice if your past data is very short, missing or entered differently every month. Clean reporting comes first, and our reports and analytics work may be the better start.

If a forecasting feature already exists in the software you use, try it first. It may answer the question at no extra cost.

Common questions

What is machine learning in simple words?

Machine learning is software that studies your past data and learns patterns from it, so it can make an estimate or spot something unusual. It does not think for itself. It is only as good as the data it learns from. Berri offers it as a trial so you can see whether it helps before spending more.

How much past data do I need for demand forecasting?

More history usually helps, and it needs to cover the seasons that matter to you. Just as important is that the data is recorded the same way each time. Berri looks at what you have in week 1 and tells you honestly if it is enough to try, or if reporting should come first.

How accurate is AI forecasting for a small business?

It depends entirely on your data and your market, so nobody can promise a number in advance. Berri tests the forecast against what really happened and against a simple method such as last year's figure. If it does not do better, we say so, and you stop there.

Can machine learning find mistakes or unusual numbers in my reports?

Yes, this is one of the more practical uses. Software can learn what normal looks like in your numbers and flag a cost, order or reading that falls far outside it. A person then checks each flag. Berri offers this as part of the same trial, scoped to your data.

Is forecasting from Berri a finished product?

No. Forecasting and machine learning are in trial at Berri. We have not yet delivered them for an outside client, so we start with a small paid trial, measure the result honestly, and only then suggest going further. Your data stays yours and can be exported at any time.
